Finding the right foundation☯

when choosing a foundation, you want it to be the right one. especially when you're new to makeup, foundation can be a confusing area! here's some tips to help you find the perfect one.

1) what coverage do you want?
if you're wanting a light converge, BB Cream is perfect for you. if you're looking for coverage, I suggest a medium coverage foundation. this means you can tone it down or build it up!

2) what skin type do you have?
all foundations/bb creams suit different skin types. most of them will tell you on the bottle, if not on their website. if you can't seem to find what you're looking for then keep reading!

3) read reviews.
see what other people think of the product and get a better insight into it!

4) a colour that will suit your skintone.
my recommendation is to never order a foundation/bb cream from a picture (online) unless you're 100% sure it will match you. if in store, test the product against your jawline, never your hand!

5) can't find your colour?
if you have very dark or pale skin, drugstore foundations are normally not suited for you. high end foundations have a more broad range of colours. if you have pale skin and a tight budget then I recommend buying a pure white foundation. you can find some of these on Amazon and for very, very cheap prices ( the one I got is £4 ) if you mix this in with a foundation too dark for you, it will instantly lighten it.

i hope this helps anyone and let me know if it did in the comments!💕-E

Flushed Palette Review ❤

I recently purchased the 'Flushed' palette from Urban Decay. It consists of a bronzer, blusher and a highlighter. It is £22 and let me just say... it was worth the money!! I was cautious when buying it as £22 is a lot. I don't regret a thing. It's honestly so beautiful in the palette and on the face. It can look very natural or bold, whatever you like! You can also either swipe your brush along the entire product or pick out a certain bit of palette. I use this almost every day and I definitely would recommend it to anyone!

Too Faced Eyeshadow

A few months ago I purchased this too faced pallet on Amazon! the reason why I bought it was because it had a wide range of bright colours that were different to most palettes! I almost forgot to add that each colour can be transferred into an eyeliner by using the pen that comes with it!

On its arrival I was amazed by its pretty packaging! Mine has been in my makeup bag for a few months so it looks slightly old and used, but overall it still looks in good condition! I have used this pallet many times to create bold and different looks that I'm not normally used to!

You can tell how much I've used this so far! Look how gorgeous the colours are! they are so pigmented as look really vibrant on the lid!

Overall this pallet is full of intense, metallic shades that create the perfect smokey eye! The colours in the pallet are an eyeshadow lovers dream, the colours create a brilliant look for any occasion! If you don't already have this pallet I would strongly suggest that you purchase it off of amazon!

Clothes Haul ♡

Over the past few weeks I have been buying (and spending too much money) on new clothes! Some of these are perfect for the cold weather, but others are more appropriate for summer. I have styled all of the tops with my Topshop Joni Jeans!

  • The first thing I bought was this cute blue crop top from New Look. I love this as the fabric is velvet making this top different from the rest!
  • This stripy crop top is an essential for me, it goes with everything and thats why I love it! It has a mini turtle neck collar making this top again different.I also purchased this from New Look, they have a lot of nice things in at the moment.
  • This skirt was a lucky find, I found this in the New Look sale for £4, this may be gone but its still worth a look if you like it! I love how the pattern is so pretty. This goes with any black top and is perfect for a last minute party!

  • This is my lazy day top! This is honestly so comfy, but still looks good! I got mine from Primark for around £5, which for me was a steal as Topshop were selling one like this for much more! I love the little pocket on it too!
  • The next is a oversized jumper which I got from New Look, this is a favourite colour of mine and I just couldnt resist picking it up! I can wait to style this top.
  • Finally I picked up this checked shirt from Urban Outfitters. This is different for me as I usually dont go for this sort of style, but I'm kind of liking it!
  • The very last top is one from Hollister, I love it(even though it was a little pricey!) This top is probably better to wear when the weather gets warmer though!

Real Techniques Brush v Sponge

Everyone has heard of Real Techniques, known for their professional (and very good!) make-up brushes. Real Technique brushes are often a first choice for applying foundation but what is better, brush or sponge?

The expert face brush is a must have in anyone's make-up collection. It can be used for foundation, blush, bronzer: you name it. But when it comes to the sponge the only reasonable use for it is applying foundation, or any other liquid product. Saying this, though, the sponge can be excellent for applying your base.

It depends on your wants and personal preferences. If you're wanting a brush that you will be able to get many, many uses out of then The Expert Face Brush is the brush for you. If your wanting something with creates a flawless complexion, however, then the Real Techniques Sponge is your new holy grail.

It all depends on preference. Real Techniques is a very good brand for beginners to pro make-up artists. A definite must for anyone interested in make-up!!
